Bicycle Safety Month Proclaimed for Ridgeland

Mayor Gene McGee signs proclamation declaring May as Bicycle Safety Month in Ridgeland. The proclamation from the Office of the Mayor states: "I urge all residents as motorists or bicyclists to respect cycling and encourage safety throughout our community. Bicycling has a wide range of benefits for the cyclists as well as the community-at-large, including saving money and time, reducing traffic and improving health and fitness." Signatures on the proclamation include William McKinley, Jackson Metro Cyclists; Jayce Powell, Ridgeland Bicycle Advocate; Melody Thortis, Executive Director, Bikewalk Mississippi; and Michelle Williams, Crooked Letter Cycling.
