Ridgeland Mississippi News

Road Closure on Wheatley Street

This is notice that the City of Ridgeland will be closing a section of Wheatley Street, between Nolan Circle and Ford Street, for 3 days beginning on Monday morning, May 16, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until Wednesday evening, May 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. This section of Wheatley Street is being closed as a safety measure while the City’s Contractor installs new sanitary sewer lines and manholes under Wheatley Street. The detour route will be properly signed along School Street, Highway 51, Ford Street and Wheatley Street.

Residents between Ford Street and Boyd Street will be allowed an opening between the barricades to access their residences.  The excavation work will only occur north of Boyd Street. We apologize for any inconvenience and extended commute times to your homes.

Thank you for your patience and please call the Public Works Department at 601.853.2027 if you have any questions.

A sewer manhole is being installed for Boyd Street and it is being connected with the Wheatley Street sewer. Construction work will take place in the road on Wheatley Street from Nolan Circle to Ford Street. Residents may drive around the barricades to get to their homes. Thru-traffic should follow the detour signs.
