An Investment In Knowledge Always Pays The Best Interest. Benjamin Franklin offered that pearl of wisdom well before 1800, but his words still ring true today. Nothing is more integral to a prosperous, sustainable community than a healthy, actively supported school system. The City of Ridgeland understands this fact full well and is a staunch proponent of area schools.

Ridgeland public schools are part of the Madison County School System, widely recognized as one of the best school districts in the state. Ann E. Smith Elementary School, Highland Elementary School, Olde Towne Middle School, and Ridgeland High School have each received a performance classification of 5, Superior-Performing. This is the top achievement level for public schools in Mississippi and only 9.6% of schools in the state have achieved level 5.

This statistical evidence of educational success is but one means by which to evaluate Ridgeland area schools. A site visit also provides tangible evidence of a school district on the upswing. Impressive, modern facilities staffed by engaging and energetic teachers, administrators and students are a big part of this momentum. Indeed, Ridgeland public schools are alive with activity. Anchored by the newly formed Ridgeland High School, which opened its doors for the first time in 2002, a new sense of pride and possibility permeates campuses from the high school level on down.

Ridgeland also affords private educational opportunities. St. Andrews Episcopal School, one of the state’s most academically acclaimed, and Christ Covenant School are both viable Christian-based education alternatives.
