The City of Ridgeland’s Public Works Department maintains streets, water and sanitary sewers, storm drains and ditches, water tanks and water wells. The department is also charged with monthly water meter readings, city vehicle maintenance, and the operation of a cemetery. Their services are provided in an effective and safe manner for the health, safety and welfare of Ridgeland citizens.

A new water tank and well has been constructed at Walter Payton and Livingston Roads. New water lines and hydrants will be added and connected to the tank as part of a project to improve water infrastructure and provide municipal water service to the customers of the Livingston Road Water Association. The new tank and well will improve the overall volume and quality of water to Ridgeland residents and businesses. |

A new and improved Harbor Drive was built and landscaped with over 2000 trees and shrubs, making it stand out among road projects. Ridgeland received a Certified Urban Forest designation for Harbor Drive. |

Ridgeland's Multi-Use Trail, popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists, traverses the railroad tracks in the historic Jackson Street District of Ridgeland. It was designed to look like an old railroad bridge. Directly north of the trail, improvements were made to the Jackson Street District with ornamental fencing alongside the railroad tracks, decorative lighting, attractive sidewalks, 123 parking spaces on both sides of the tracks and both sides of W. Jackson Street, as well as benches and a community plaza. |

A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration was held for the Extension of the Multi-Use Trail in Ridgeland. The extension added over 2 miles to the existing trail from Highway 51 to Highland Colony Parkway and along Sunnybrook Road to Steed Road.
