Ridgeland Fire Department to host 9/11 ceremony and heroes run

The Ridgeland Fire Department will be hosting a 9/11 ceremony and heroes run on September 11. The public is invited to attend the ceremony to honor the heroes of 9/11 at 8:15 a.m. Immediately after the ceremony, a 5k and 1-mile fun run/walk will begin at approximately 8:45 a.m. Registration is required for the heroes run.

The ceremony will be held at Northpark Mall where Northpark Drive intersects with Ring Road. The run will start on Northpark Drive and follow a route returning to the mall. The fire department has partnered with the Travis Manion Foundation to host the run/walk. Runners and walkers of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate. Active duty military and first responders will benefit from discounted registration fees.
