Award Winning Ridgeland Pecan Festival Returns on October 10th

RIDGELAND, MS — Fall fun is returning to Freedom Ridge Park! The 2nd Annual Ridgeland Pecan Festival will be held Saturday, October 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with over 60 vendors and a full day of activities celebrating community, history, and the season.

After welcoming nearly 2,000 residents and visitors in its inaugural year, the festival returns bigger this fall, featuring local artisans and craftsmen, a farmer’s market, food trucks, live music, a kids’ zone, live artist demonstrations, a dessert showcase, pecan treats, and more.

The festival also returns with a new honor. This summer, the Mississippi Municipal League recognized the inaugural Ridgeland Pecan Festival with a 2026 Municipal Excellence Award for City Spirit, which recognizes communities for innovative programs, citizen participation, and community partnerships.

“Seeing so many people come out and enjoy the first Pecan Festival was really special,” said Festival Chair Kim Cooper. “There was such a great sense of community throughout the park, and that’s exactly what we hoped the festival would create. I’m excited to build on that this year with more vendors, more activities, and another great fall day for families and friends to enjoy together.”

The festival was created following Ridgeland’s 125th anniversary year,  when the pecan was officially designated as the City Tree. Inspired by Ridgeland’s agricultural roots, the event combines a celebration of the City’s history with old-fashioned family fun.

“The Pecan Festival captured the heart of Ridgeland, a community that values its history, its people, and its future,” Mayor Gene McGee said. “We were thrilled with the response to the first festival and look forward to welcoming residents and visitors back to Freedom Ridge Park.”
