In 1963, Harold Butler built a pole barn, milk parlor and began Moonlight Dairy. He did almost all of thebuilding himself with the help of Jim Butler and started with a small heard. He kept detailed recordsabout the milk production and sold his milk to Superior Milk in Canton, Mississippi.

The cypress bench was donated to the Historical Society of Ridgeland by Jim and Nancy Batson inFebruary of 2021. The cypress bench was made by Jim Batson from a 40 year old cypress tree grown onthe Batson property in Audubon Woods located in the Old Agency Road corridor (OARC) PreservationDistrict.
