CITY OF RIDGELAND RECREATION AND PARKS INSTALLS NEW OVERHEAD NETS AT
FREEDOM RIDGE PARK BASEBALL FIELDS

Ridgeland, MS – The City of Ridgeland Recreation and Parks Department is proud to announce the installation of new overhead protective nets at the baseball fields in Freedom Ridge Park. This significant upgrade underscores the City’s commitment to enhancing the safety and enjoyment of players, spectators, and visitors at one of the region’s premier recreational facilities.

The new overhead nets provide expanded protection from foul balls and errant throws, ensuring a safer experience for families and fans watching the games. Designed with high-quality materials, the nets are built to withstand the elements and meet modern safety standards while maintaining unobstructed views of the fields.

“We are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment for our community to enjoy America’s favorite pastime,” said John Sidney North, Director of Ridgeland Recreation and Parks. “This enhancement to Freedom Ridge Park represents our ongoing efforts to provide high-quality recreational facilities for our residents and visitors.”

Freedom Ridge Park, renowned for its state-of-the-art sports amenities, attracts hundreds of athletes and spectators annually for tournaments, league play, and community events. Installing the overhead nets is part of a broader initiative to maintain the park’s status as a top destination for recreation in Ridgeland.

The City of Ridgeland invites the community to experience the improved facilities during the upcoming spring season.
