CEREMONY IN HONOR OF MEMORIAL DAY & AMERICA250 EXHIBIT TO BE HELD AT RIDGELAND CITY HALL

WHO:              Chaplain David Morris; Honorable Gene McGee, Mayor of Ridgeland; Brigadier General Joe Hargett (ret.); Ridgeland Board of Aldermen; National Guard Band; Historical Society of Ridgeland; and other City officials; the event is open to the public to attend

WHAT:            The May 21st Memorial Day Ceremony will be held outside of City Hall in the Veterans Memory Park, which includes benches and plaques commemorating the six branches of service. The park also features a central walkway, the Walk of Heroes, and a flagpole. The center point is a seven-foot bell tower.

The Memorial Day Ceremony includes keynote remarks by Brigadier General Joe Hargett (ret); remarks and welcome by Mayor Gene McGee and Colonel John McCollum; Presentation of Colors by the Ridgeland High School AFJROTC; music by the National Guard Band and Dr. Catherine Sledge.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to visit a new America250 Exhibit, curated by Nancy Batson, Chair of the City History Committee.
