Fire Academy for Kids is a fun camp designed for 8 to 11 year olds to learn about fire prevention, fire escape plans, fighting fires, fire safety, emergency medical assistance, emergency rescue, and other firefighter duties. It’s free and led by the Ridgeland Fire Department. Participants are allowed to try on gear, use fire hoses, use the Jaws of Life, all under supervision, of course! Wet and Wild Wednesday is a highlight of the week. Graduation on Friday includes a lunch for parents/caregivers and certificates of completion.
