The rag doll was made by Ruth Henderson Jenkins for the Methodist Pazarre in the early 1940s. TheJenkins and Henderson’s where early settlers in the Ridgeland area.

The City of Ridgeland is celebrating the 125th anniversary this year (2024). Ridgeland was incorporatedas a Village on December 29, 1899. Mayor McGee signed the Proclamation recognizing the anniversaryyear in March 2024. The spring issue of Ridgeland Life magazine includes the announcement of theanniversary and the anniversary logo.

As a teen laborer in 1883, Samuel Blough came to Ridgeland from Indiana after a dispute with hisfather. He went to the train station and placed all his money on the counter telling the ticket agent hewanted a ticket to wherever that much money would take him. The agent sold him a ticket to RidgelandMississippi.
