Ridgeland Welcome’s New Director of PR

THE CITY OF RIDGELAND WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS

RIDGELAND, MISS. – The City of Ridgeland is pleased to announce that Kim Cooper has joined the team as the new Director of Public Relations. She will be responsible for community promotions, communications and overall public relations strategy for the City. 

“We are excited to bring Ms. Cooper on board. Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to make the City of Ridgeland a vibrant destination and great place to live and work,” Mayor Gene McGee stated.

Ms. Cooper is a public relations professional with extensive experience in crisis management, media relations, training, project management and strategic communication. She is also a strategic campaign professional with experience in taking corporate, political and nonprofit campaigns from conception to execution, building a record of proven results for local, state, and national organizations. 

Prior to joining the City of Ridgeland, she has worked for over 15 years with communication firms that have a local, state, national and global presence. She most recently was communications consultant and a Senior Strategist at The Mach 1 Group, based out of Austin, Texas. She launched her communications career as a member of Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Consulting Practice Group, where she developed and executed public affairs campaign strategies for major national and global brands.
