SERGEANT WAYNE DILL RECEIVES FIRST RESPONDER OF THE YEAR AWARD

RIDGELAND, MISS. – Each year, Keesler Federal Credit Union honors all of the first responders who protect the communities where we live and work. “To show our gratitude to these brave men and women, we encourage every department in our footprint to nominate one First Responder of the Year,” stated Caitlin Bradshaw, Keesler Federal Credit Union. Each winner receives an award plus a $100 gift card, both presented in person. This program has been in place for over five years and is still going strong!

This year, the local honor went to Sergeant Wayne Dill of the Ridgeland Fire Department, who was presented the award on October 4. Sergeant Dill has faithfully served the Ridgeland Fire Department for 18 years. It’s a true honor as individuals are selected across the state and nominated by their peers.

Sergeant Wayne Dill has served with the Ridgeland Fire Department for 18 years. During his time with the department, he has shown a great passion for the job and serving the citizens of Ridgeland. “He leads by example and is a great mentor to the new and upcoming firefighters – helping them train and further their knowledge in firefighting and Emergency Medical Service skills,” stated Deputy Chief James Stokes.
